What do we do

The objective of the DrugFAM Events Committee is to raise awareness of the charity and raise funds to enable DrugFAM to continue to support families, friends and carers affected by drug and alcohol addiction .

The strategy is two fold:

Firstly, the organisation of one major event per year where focus is put on public relations as well as fundraising.

Secondly smaller, more frequent events are organised once a quarter to continue the flow of funds to ensure the current three Drop In centres can continue its valuable support role.

Our Events

The first fund raising event was launched in 2008 with a Family Fashion Show held in the grounds of Penn House, by kind permission of Earl and Lady Howe. The Fashion Show, featuring brand names such as House of Fraser, River Island and Jack Wills involved local adults and children. This was very much a family event to reflect the recognition of how addiction affects families.

In early 2009 we held a fun quiz night at Amersham and Chiltern Rugby Club which was another notable success for our charity.

On the 19th of September the events committee held a "Dine in Your Own Style" end of summer party which was attended by over 500 people. Each table organised their own way of dining which ranged from one table hiring their own waiter to delivery of fish and chips and everything in between including one table with a candelabra!!
