My son James (19) stopped using skunk, ketamin and probably a lot of other drugs a couple of months ago. His life was in total chaos, sofa surfing, hiding from drug dealers, debts mounting and generally loosing anything that slightly resembled a ''normal'' a life He has left the area and is living with my parents now. He wanted to show us he had made the change so my mum ordered a drug testing kit from the Internet (a proper drug info site). He tested negative and it showed he had been clean for at least 30 days leading up to the test. He has been doing temp work for the last couple of months as a labourer and he started this week at college on a full time course to become a carpenter. He has also put on 2 stone in weight in the last 2 months and looks like my son again!
I know its early days but I feel I can breath and sleep again. felt like I had lost my son for the last 4 years (nothing in comparison to some parents/carers plights I know) but I am so glad to see gl!impses of the old James back. I want to thank Drugfam from my heart for all the support and kindness you have shown me. I have learnt a lot coming to the High Wycombe group, facing the reality of my situation meant I needed all the help you were able to offer so once again.Thank you. I have felt humbled by people who have lost so much and still feel able to support others. I hope my son continues to recover and although I know we are only at the start of our journey i now have HOPE! Julie x
