Heather Harper
I met Elizabeth and her husband Tony at a Slough Police Partnership function several years ago where a reformed drug addict, who had led a life of drug related crime, was sharing his very poignant story for the first time. He talked about his Nan, Mum and family who had been so horribly affected by and because of his actions, when he finished Elizabeth told me about her sons and the book she was writing. I was so relieved to meet her, someone I immediately could share my own sad experiences with, I felt instant empathy and suddenly didn’t feel quite so helpless.
The power of sharing is the first step to healing and I thank Elizabeth for listening to me and now through the work of DrugFAM and her writing, countless others will understand better how to cope with their loved ones addictions and the inevitable broken relationships. I am honoured to be part of the DrugFAM team and bring my Advertising, Business, organisational and personal experiences to spread the word that the DrugFAM Charity is a family of support for all those whose lives are challenged by drug addiction.
