4. SPODA Family and Carer Support, CHESTERFIELD Aim is to limit the harm that can result from another's drug use. Spoda provides information which allows the family to understand and deal with their circumstances, the opportunity to improve coping skills, respite, assistance by advocating for clients, family support groups, telephone support, alternative therapies to reduce tension and improve well being, support to families who have lost a loved one to a drug related death. Drop in services aim to provide a safe place, where people affected by someone else’s drinking/drug use can receive free, confidential information and support from a team of friendly advisors.
