4. SPODA Family and Carer Support, CHESTERFIELD Aim is to limit the harm that can result from another's drug use. Spoda provides information which allows the family to understand and deal with their circumstances, the opportunity to improve coping skills, respite, assistance by advocating for clients, family support groups, telephone support, alternative therapies to reduce tension and improve well being, support to families who have lost a loved one to a drug related death. Also provides learning opportunities for families/carers around: - coping with conflict, setting and keeping boundaries, how families can support a substance user and give a better understanding of the effects of drugs and the nature of dependency

Drop in services aim to provide a safe place, where people affected by someone else’s drinking/drug use can receive free, confidential information and support from a team of friendly advisors. Refreshments are provided and our friendly volunteer advisors are well trained and non judgemental. The drop in’s take place at the following places:
